Interactive installation, presented at Sónar+D, that transported audiences into a digital landscape shaped by the dynamics of the attention economy. Using body sensors and a Kinect 2.0, the piece transformed physical movement into both a collective game and a living soundscape, inviting participants to reflect on how constant digital stimuli affect our bodies and behaviours. Visitors were not passive spectators, but active agents within the installation. Their movements determined the unfolding of the experience: to succeed in the collective game, they needed to coordinate by moving at a specific speed for a set duration. This challenge mirrored the pressures of digital platforms, where attention is quantified, demanded, and disciplined.

At the same time, each gesture and interaction generated sound. Notification tones from familiar social networks were woven into the soundscape, merging with participants’ movements to create an immersive environment that was playful yet unsettling. The installation revealed how our bodies have become deeply entangled with the feedback loops of digital systems, where every action has an echo. By blending movement, game mechanics, and sound, WARE Prototype exposed the invisible structures of the attention economy and its impact on everyday life. It transformed the act of play into a critical lens, asking audiences to consider the cost of perpetual distraction and the ways our physical selves are increasingly mediated by digital demands.
