Theatre play by Irene Pérez Muñoz, presented at Teatre L’Artesà, that explored the promises and perils of artificial intelligence assistants as tools designed to improve human life. The piece posed a central question: how much decision-making power are we willing to cede to machines, and what is lost in that process?Digital generative artwork that explores the fluid and ever-changing nature of landscapes— shaped both by natural forces and human activity— through continuously evolving an image with algorithmic processes.
Digital environment of the play
To give form to this tension, the production integrated live audiovisuals into the scenography, using a Kinect 2.0 motion sensor to merge the actress into a 3D digital environment projected on stage. This interplay blurred the boundaries between stage and screen, performer and algorithm. The shifting visuals reflected the ambiguous relationship between human agency and technological mediation, amplifying the play’s central themes of control, autonomy, and reliance on AI systems.

Through its hybrid scenography, O.M.I. did not simply stage a narrative about artificial intelligence—it enacted it. The audience witnessed how digital environments can both extend and constrain human expression, echoing the real-world dilemmas of living in close partnership with intelligent machines.
